Psychosocial Well-being and Community Support
The programme adopts a feminist and community-based approach that recognises that women’s psychological well-being is closely connected to their living conditions and their family, social and economic relationships, and cannot be addressed separately from the environments in which they live. The Association’s work therefore extends beyond individual counselling and support by creating safe and participatory spaces where women can express their experiences, exchange knowledge, and collectively understand and analyse the challenges they face. Through individual and group sessions, psychological first aid and community activities, the Association strengthens confidence, belonging and psychosocial resilience, while supporting women to build networks of mutual care and solidarity that can continue beyond the duration of individual interventions. The programme also supports women in moving from being solely recipients of assistance to becoming active participants in producing knowledge, supporting other women, and developing initiatives and tools that respond to their needs and the realities of their communities.
